- Develop a more robust Farmers’ Market that provides real value to our farmers and local producers
- Explore and develop a regional food hub concept
- Return support of hops and grains to the area and be part of the solution for catching Thurston County up in the craft brew industry
Thurston County has a rich history of prosperous local agriculture. Our Farmers’ Market is a vibrant gathering spot and provides great value for local farmers and food producers. We must explore and nurture this regional food hub to enhance the opportunities local food producers have to connect with the community and ease their burdens of meeting the demands of food distribution and marketing throughout our county and beyond.
Hops and grains have been a staple in the culture of Thurston County throughout its history. Today, our breweries play a pivotal role in the rapidly expanding local craft beverage industry. The Port of Olympia has the responsibility to support them in their efforts to remain viable. Our aid can nurture these local businesses while simultaneously stimulating our entire economy.
